Learning Language Together

1️⃣ Skim through the vocab 👀

First, I take a quick look at all the new words in the lesson. Just to meet them — no pressure to memorize yet. Like saying, “Hi there, see you later!” 😄

2️⃣ Learn the words deeply 🌱

Then I zoom in on each word and see how it’s used in the lesson. What phrases does it show up in? What situations is it commonly used in? I become a “word detective” 🔍🕵️‍♀️

3️⃣ Listen without reading 🎧 (First round)

I play the lesson audio and just listen, no reading! Like listening to a podcast in Chinese — I try to catch the vibe of the story or message 🤓

4️⃣ Listen again (with purpose!) 🎧

Now I listen again, focusing on the words I didn’t catch the first time. Suddenly, the vocab starts lighting up in my brain! ✨

5️⃣ Steal useful sentence patterns 📝

I pick the sentence structures I like, and for each one, I write 5 personalized sentences. Yep, sentences about my own life!
Example: “If I become fluent in Chinese, I’ll fly to Beijing for roast duck!” 🦆✈️

6️⃣ Ask myself questions ❓

I ask myself questions about the lesson content — kind of like doing a mini-interview with my brain. Great for thinking deeper + practicing fluency 😄

7️⃣ Summarize the lesson ✍️

I write a short summary of the lesson in my own words, using as many new words as possible. Like a little challenge: “How many new words can I sneak in here?” 💥

8️⃣ Practice speaking out loud! 🗣️

After reading, listening, and writing… it’s time to talk! I pick a few sentences from the lesson (or my own) and say them out loud — with feeling, with drama, with hand gestures if needed! 😆💃
Even better? I record myself and play it back. Sometimes I cringe… but hey, that’s how progress happens!

9️⃣ Expand your vocab world 📚

I look up related words from the same topic to build a whole mini vocab universe! For example, if the lesson is about city life, I also learn words about traffic, jobs, stress, etc.
